Another month more we return to make a review of the current distribution of Android updates. Google has already offered the statistics for this month of March. The data that we will see below have been collected over a period of 14 days ending yesterday, March 4.
From 5 February to 4 March again most versions of Jelly Bean (4.1 and 4.2) are the only ones that have gained market share. As a whole they have gone from 13.6% in the month prior to 16.5%. Android 4.1 is the version most used with 14.9% while Android 4.2 must be comply with 1.6%.
Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) is still the most widely used version today although it is losing market share every month, now only available in 44.2% of Android devices and finally there are more devices with Android 4.0 or higher than with Android 2.3 (adding devices with Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean have 45.1%).
Ice Cream Sandwich passes 29.0% to 28.6%, Honeycomb from 13% to 12%, Froyo from 8.1% to 7.6%, Donut and Eclair from 2.2% to the 1.9 is still with 0.2%.
