According to citypopulationreview, Hawaii is a beautiful island state located in the Pacific Ocean, approximately 2,500 miles southwest of mainland United States. The archipelago is made up of eight main islands: Hawaii (the largest and most populous), Maui, Oahu, Kauai, Molokai, Lanai, Niihau and Kahoolawe. Although all of the islands are part of the same state, they each have their own unique characteristics and attractions. Hawaii has a warm tropical climate year-round with temperatures rarely falling below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. The state receives plenty of sunshine throughout the year and is known for its stunning white sand beaches with turquoise waters. It also has an array of lush green mountains perfect for hiking or camping trips. The Hawaiian Islands are home to numerous cultural attractions such as historic sites like Pearl Harbor or Iolani Palace in Honolulu as well as various art galleries and museums where visitors can learn about the rich history and culture of Hawaii. There are also plenty of entertainment venues such as music festivals or luaus featuring traditional Hawaiian music and dance. Of course no trip to Hawaii would be complete without trying some delicious local cuisine like poke bowls or laulau dishes. In addition to its amazing attractions, Hawaii also offers a variety of outdoor activities such as surfing, snorkeling, diving or simply relaxing on one of its many beautiful beaches. With its stunning scenery and friendly people, it’s no wonder why so many people visit this paradise each year. According to allcitycodes, Hawaii is the 50th and most recent state to join the United States and is served by 4 area codes. The original area codes for Hawaii were 808, which was established in 1947 and served the entire state until 1998. In 1998, an additional 808 area code was introduced to serve the island of Oahu while an additional 842 area code was created to serve Maui. In addition to the original two area codes, two more have since been added: 544 (Kauai) and 646 (Big Island). All four area codes are used for both local and long distance calling throughout Hawaii as well as other parts of North America depending on your carrier service provider. For example, people living in Honolulu will use either 808 or 842 when making local calls while those living in Hilo will use 544 when dialing locally within their city limits. Similarly, people living in Kailua-Kona will use 646 for local calling while those living in Kahului will use 842 for local calls within their city limits. Additionally, all four area codes are used for long distance calling throughout Hawaii as well as other parts of North America depending on your carrier service provider.
